Description: Ryan Stirm has a knack for seeking out prime Central Coast vineyard sites and crafting wines that speak directly to the soil they hail from. The Wirz Vineyard is home to 100+ year old Zinfandel vines that make up the bulk of this wine (the rest from 60 year old Riesling). A dynamic site that is dissected by the San Andreas fault, it features a variety of soil types. The zin is harvested early, followed by multiple passes on the Riesling. Fermented whole cluster in redwood for 2 weeks before aging on the fine lees for 2 years in old oak. Strawberry and blackberry fruits, baking spice and bramble all dominate.
