Description: Pérez is one of the most important names in Spain. Hailing from a long line of winemakers, he struck out on his on in 2005 at 22 years old to make his own wine his own way. The wine here is a Mencía-dominant field blend from ~100 year old vines on clay and sand. Half whole cluster fruit spends 2 months on the skins and almost a year in old oak before it hits bottling without any subtractions or additions. Red fruit lingers with savory herbs, tomato leaf and bright spice. Almost as if Pinot and Syrah had a baby.
