Description: A perennial favorite of mine, this one comes from the late natty wine grandaddy Marcel Lapierre. Their answer to the quaffable, but largely indistinct Nouveau Beaujolais trend, fruit comes mostly from younger declassified vines in their Morgon vineyards that are allowed to overyield beyond the AOC limits and macerated whole cluster semi-carbonic to create a blast of bright strawberry and raspberry fruit, low alcohol, tannin and just enough acidity to make it absolutely chuggable. To quote the late Marcel “it’s a wine that... drinks like a beer.”
