Description: Fred is a wildcard in the Faugères AOC of Languedoc-Roussillon, considered a gem the region. He took over a handful of 25 year old organic vines in 2012 and has been crafting immaculate wines with very hands off approach; native yeast, no fining, filtering, and just a dash of SO2 when needed, partial whole cluster fermentation and aging in mostly stainless steel with 10% neutral oak. This is a classic Rhône blend, redolent with deep black, red and blue fruit, savory herb and spice, rustic barnyard, olive brine and black pepper. Medium body with smooth, textured tannin. As natty as the production is, the wine drinks absolutely classic.
