Description: Nouveau wine is often conflated with the watered down, bubble gummy, gaudily labeled Dubouef wines typically plugged the week before Thanksgiving by some dork in a stupid tie. This is not that. While it retains the freshness one would expect from a nouveau (it does see traditional whole cluster carbonic maceration), the fruit is not an afterthought here. The gamay is sourced from the Carousel vineyard in the upper reaches of Yakima Valley. The result is the expressive bright red fruit one expects, with a dollop of woodsy spice and herbs, and with a slight chill and good company, will not last long open, as intended.
