Description: The story of Etna wine is indistinguishable from the Nicolosi family, who were originally tasked with farming the harsh volcano. For their efforts, Don Carmelo was named Baron of Villagrande and they have been part of Etna’s DNA since. Coming from 700 meters up the volcano, warm days and cool nights keep the vines in check. A year in chestnut barrels (sourced locally) softens the wine. Forest floor, red berry, pepper and coffee play at each other. Has all the powerful finesse of a fine Burgundy.
