Description: Baccanti is a wild card in Campania, taking traditionally bold, palate-crushing native varietals such as Aglianico and Piedrosso, and creating wines with a surprising amount of lift. Aglianico, referred to by certain dorks of wine as the "Nebbiolo of the south", gets an elegant makeover here. Clocking in at a cool 12.5% ABV, this retains a ton of freshness one would not expect from the varietal. The tannin, darker fruit nose and deep color is still there, but a preserved acidity that borders on effervescent sets this one apart.
