Description: Danielle and Pierluca Proietti tend to the vines in their family property in Piglio, an overlooked part of the overlooked region of Lazio. They work entirely with nearly forgotten native varietals, such as the Cesanese here, along with olives, walnuts, herbs, and vegetables farmed biodynamically. The wine is fermented in stainless and aged in both tank and cement, bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with only a touch of sulphur when needed. It pours full bodied with a deep color, but explosive with red and dark berries, forest spice, rustic flair, bright herbs and an unexpected lift from the acidity.
